Gayle S. Janzen, Ph.D.

Gayle Janzen received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1980 from The University of Alabama. She completed her Clinical Internship at the UAB Medical School where she began her interest and training in treating eating disorders. After working with teenagers and families at The Children’s Hospital, she opened her private practice associated with Brookwood Medical Center, where she was Staff Psychologist on both the Adolescent Unit and the Eating Disorders Unit for several years. Dr Janzen now maintains an office practice with teenagers and their parents, and with adults of all ages, both as individuals and couples.

Dr. Janzen specializes in treating eating disorders, adult survivors of sexual abuse, marital and relationship problems, and women’s issues – such as juggling career and family demands, divorce adjustment, “empty-nest” syndrome, menopause and aging. She enjoys helping couples listen to and understand each other better, and helping teenagers cope with their parents and vice-versa. For over 25 years she has treated a great number of people with depression and anxiety disorders, such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Panic Disorder, and she also helps those who suffer from PTSD.

Catherine B. Ramey, Psy. D.

Cathy Ramey received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Atlanta . She completed her internship at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge . While there, she mostly worked with college students doing individual and couple psychotherapy and psychological assessment (testing). She also worked at the Southern Louisiana Forensic Hospital (adolescents and adults) in forensic evaluation, token economy, and psychotherapy with seriously mentally ill prisoners (mostly Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Antisocial Personality Disorder).

Following graduation and licensure, Dr. Ramey worked for a private nonprofit social services agency in Birmingham . In 2003, she formed a private practice. In 2006, she joined Cahaba Psychology Center . She has a general practice with couples, families, and individuals of all ages. She continues to conduct psychological assessments. She enjoys using therapy to alleviate problems with anxiety, depression, grief, divorce, relationship difficulties, behavioral problems, ADHD, and family conflict.

Patricia Jolly-Fleece, Ph.D.

Dr. Patricia Jolly-Fleece received her Ph.D. from Auburn University in 1979. She completed her Clinical Internship at the UAB Medical School, where she fulfilled requirements for specialties in both child/adolescent and adult clinical psychology.  Prior to moving to Alabama, Dr. Jolly-Fleece attended Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee for her B.A. in psychology.  Dr. Jolly-Fleece worked at the UAB  Department of Psychiatry for several years prior to opening her own practice.  She is a licensed psychologist.  Dr. Jolly-Fleece recently stopped teaching Behavior Therapy to psychology graduate students, something she enjoyed doing with her spouse for the last 20 years.
Known as Dr. Pattie to most of her patients, she specializes in child, adolescent, and adult problems.
Her areas of interest are anxiety disorders (panic, OCD, general anxiety, phobias, test anxiety, social anxiety), depression, ADHD, learning disabilities, difficult to manage children, and problems with assertion.  Dr. Pattie is a wife and the mother of two teenagers.  She is also an animal lover and currently has 5 mixed breed cats.

Mark H. Burge, Ph.D.

Dr. Burge completed his undergraduate work at the University of Kentucky and he obtained his doctorate at St. Louis University.  His internship was through the University of Alabama-Birmingham consortium.  Dr. Burge is a licensed psychologist who has practiced in Birmingham since 1996.  He has worked for the Alabama Department of Youth Services, Samaritan Counseling Center, and in private practice.  He sees children and adolescents and their families along with individual adult clients.  He has a clinical focus on disruptive behavior disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, self-injury, anxiety disorders, family conflict, and marital/relationship problems. He also provides assessment and treatment for sexual offending in adolescents.
